Description: Anyone who was anyone in 1983, had a Mercedes-Benz roadster. The 1983 380 SL is a sporting luxury collectible. This car was originally purchased by a Doctor in Gainesville, FL before being sold to my mothers cousin in the early 90's. My mother has owned the car since the late 90's and brought it from Florida to Nebraska. It has been garage kept its entire life and regular maintenance always performed. This car has never been driven in the winter or snow. Always a weekend cruiser, this all original, fully loaded, V8 Benz, has only 71,400 miles. Mercedes built these R107 SLs correctly from day one. So if you find a well-preserved example like this, age is barely a factor. It’s powered by a 3.8 liter V8 engine that puts out 155 bhp@ 4750 rpm and 196 lbs-ft torque@2750 rpm. It rides on independent front and rear suspension and coil springs, while stopping power is provided by four wheel disk brakes. Step into the car and you’ll be surprised that this car is almost four decades old. The tan leather seats look like they just came off the animal, the rest of the tan interior show little to no signs of sun damage and the zebrano wood-lined center console is as shiny as ever. The interior has everything you need for a weekend cruiser: climate control, stereo cassette, power windows, power passenger side mirror, and cruise control.
